Uploading your documents
To work as a Shift Hero engineer, you are required to upload certain documents. Follow this guide for a smooth registration process.

Your documents
Speed up the process by providing the right documents:
Required documents
- 2 Photo IDs (eg. Passport & DVLA Photo Licence).
- Company Registration Number or UTR Number.
- Bank Account Details (for payments, under your name or business).
- Certificate of Qualification (level 3 minimum)
Required before start of work
- Public & Product Liability Insurance (Minimum £5M cover).
PRO-TIP: You can register and on-board without this but you will be required to have both product and public liability insurance before the commencement of work. See "What do I need to join" in our FAQs for a list of recommended insurance companies.
Optional documents
- Certificates of completed training courses.
- Relevant professional memberships.
- Professional references.
PRO-TIP: The more details you provide about your skills and qualifications, the better your chances of accessing great job opportunities.
For companies with 5+ employees
- Health & Safety Policy.
- Quality Policy.
- Environmental Policy.
- Employer liability insurance.

Tips for uploading your documents
Follow these guidelines when uploading your documents:
Ensure Documents Are Clear and Complete
Make sure all details are visible and the entire document is shown..
Make sure your document is in image or pdf format
Upload documents as images (JPEG, PNG) or PDFs.
Upload all pages for multiple page documents
If a document has multiple pages, ensure all are included.
Show All Four Borders of the Document
Make sure all edges of the document are visible to avoid rejection.
Information should match across documents
Ensure details are consistent across documents (e.g., name and address).
Document review time
Documents are usually reviewed within 12 hours, but may take up to 48 hours..
